It takes mental toughness and patience to discuss yoga in this century. The real concept of this ancient art has long been forgotten, buried within the demanding lifestyle of modern day globalization. The real philosophy behind yoga may be complex, but modern day interpretation of yoga has reduced the confusing structure into a simpler form. The contents of yoga are exceptionally intricate and thus westerners may find it hard to understand. It can be disastrous to assume a fake understanding of such a complicated subject and spreading it as the absolute truth. Due to the lack of a deeper understanding, most westerners view yoga as a physical activity. Today, yoga in the west has been reduced to a simplified form of practice that focuses on achieving internal peace and meditative states.

This unique practice is actually a religious journey, a representation of one of the Hindu schools of thought. In the faraway land of India, it is recognized as a spiritual practice that includes a series of complex and systematic physical moves. Viewing yoga as a physical activity is definitely a mistake. Most westerners are aware of the strange symbols associated with yoga practice, but often they are misunderstood. This discipline is practiced as a popular sport. The allure of yoga as an effective way to gain inner peace and balance has beckoned many to embrace this activity as well.

Almost all who proclaim themselves as yoga masters perpetrate these claims and the masses are undoubtedly fascinated. There is plenty of evidence to show that yoga has been wrongly implemented in the West.

A closer look revealed that these errors were caused by the cultural influence of each race. The western busy lifestyles certainly do not provide much space to contemplate on this philosophy. Most Americans do not possess the time to spend moments in meaningful sessions of quiet meditation, which is essential for success when embracing this practice. The Hindus have a different set of value system that is very different from the west, and places low importance in the mere accumulation of physical wealth. It is impossible to attain true wisdom that is aligned with the real philosophy of yoga in this state of mind. It takes patience and time to experience a successful meditative session. The west seems cursed with the obsession to pursue the goal of building better lives in the form of lavish lifestyles and not in the philosophical way.

Yoga becomes a stylish endeavor instead of a spiritual experience. It is easy to practice yoga anywhere you want; there are plenty of materials for you to select from that are promoting this activity as a form of sports. Fans of famous people who later become fake gurus are adamant about supporting their idol and his practice. This crooked philosophy has been widely spread by its loyal followers.
